The Community of Hope

This church has always tried to steward its resources to the fullest, and as we’ve discussed, it has done so with courage and creativity. Our focus is on integrating and expanding existing ministries into the life of a new community and making a tangible impacts in areas of great need.

EL Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) is a product of Hope Lutheran’s commitment to legacy building in our community. Founded in 2001 by a coalition of churches and dedicated volunteers who would move cots from church to church, including Hope Lutheran, each week, providing a safe, comfortable place for people in need to stay. Hope continues to play an active role in the continued operations of ECHO by providing monthly meal service and ongoing volunteer support to the organization.

Community: It’s in our DNA

Building community is in the DNA of this church. Recent projects like Homes of Hope, the San Gabriel Road project with Habitat for Humanity SLO County, continue a 30+ year legacy of intentional work in Atascadero. Hope’s Land Use committee seeks to prioritize ways church property can be used meaningfully to further the church’s mission. We’re focused on service to the community through meaningful partnerships.
